THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MODERN SPECTATOR
This research investigates the processes of structuration of modern historiographic narratives, discussing their key concepts, modes of operation, textualities, and discoursive layers. Within this ambit, beyond the retrospective examination, our interest lies in examining both the notion of temporality implicit in the idea of “modern”and “modernity”, and the relocations of categories from manifests and criticisms to texts of an “official” historiography of the art and architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries. As a clipping, we work on interchanges between Europe, North America and Brazil.
