Research Project
BODIES-CITY: AFRICAN-REFERENCED PERFORMATIVITIES AND CARTOGRAPHIES IN BRAZIL AND LATIN AMERICA
The present project aims at providing continuity to research on bodies-city, from african-referenced gestures and cartographies. Such clipping intends to intensify the survey and collation of sources comprehended in different periods of Brazilian colonial history, which maintained until current times the structuring elements of “violence as illness from birth”. The research also seeks to deepen the debate on how the discoursive, imagistic, poetic forms and the corporalities which, from the start, had ever performed acts that are opposed to the colonial project, have contributed to keep in perspective the interactions and intersections of those forces of insubordination, in countries from our America which have experienced and still experience the effects of the colonial undertaking from past centuries. Joint projects: 1. Bodies-City: Art, health, care and education [in progress – Prociência (Proscience) (2021-2024)]; 2. House-Atelier: Art, health, education [in progress – CNPq – Edital Universal (Universal Edit) (2018-2022)]; 3. Geopoetics and new epistemes: Relations of art and culture in contemporaneity [in progress – Programa CAPES Print (CAPES Print Program) (2018-2023)]; 4. Theatricalities and performativities in times of catastrophe [in progress – APQ1/FAPERJ (2019-2023); 5. III Afroperformacidade (Afroperformcity) Meeting [in progress – APQ2/FAPERJ (2022)]; 6. Medea and its margins [concluded – Edital Apoio às Artes (Support for the Arts Edit)/FAPERJ (2016-2021)].
