ART OF F(R)ICTION: MYTH, RITE AND FEMINIST CARTOGRAPHIES
In the inter-relation between the fields of arts and anthropology, topics such as myth, rite, and theoretical-practical approaches which constitute the feminist principles, are brought alongside each other. Braiding these three pillars within the context of the arts, this investigation aims at relating the notion of experience (rite/performance) to the polyvalence of imagination and its symbolic valuation (myth), helping to expand the horizons of research on arts beyond the classic frontiers which would set apart artistic, anthropologic, philosophic, psychological and religious studies, thus collaborating to post-disciplinary perspectives and the rupture of rigid epistemological borders. In the middle of this web of fields of knowledge, it seeks to understand art in its performing, liminal dimension, taking the artist-researcher as a cartographer who is tracing landscapes within the relation with the I and the contexts of alterity, suggesting the foment of an artist-researcher of f(r)iction who operates on the in-between place of the real/fictional, by dealing with deep levels of oneself within the cultural imagery, in a process of self-exploration and attrition between art and life by the route of the performing scene. This project embraces researches that are joined to authorial processes in art, especially in the performing arts (theater, dance, performance, popular scenic expressions), starting from personal mythologies for the creation, as well as the investigation, of contexts of otherness which dialogue with layers of personalness, trafficking by the field of plural feminisms and of gender issues.
